Edo State Police Command has warned the 643 applicants who applied for recruitment into the Nigerian Police Force in the state not to give money to anybody with intent to facilitate their employment.
The State Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye, gave this warning while speaking with newsmen on Thursday at the aptitude test centres in Benin city.
Adegboye explained that the decision to join the police is not a secret affairs but an open affairs.
“I am bringing the message of the Inspector General of Police, IG Kayode Egbetokun, that you don’t have to give any body money to join the police.
“Joining the police is not a secret affairs but an open affair, one you pass this examination you are qualified to join the police.
“The chairman of the Police Service Commission, IG Solomon Arase (rtd), has also reintegrated that police recruitment is an open affair and not for sale,” he said.
The CP added that 90 per cent of the applicants are qualified and fit to join the Police, assuring that those that passed the aptitude and medical tests will be recruited.
