Hollywood star actor, Johnny Depp, is set return to the “Pirates of the Caribbean” series to play the beloved swashbuckling character Jack Sparrow, five years after his last movie.
In 2018, after it was claimed that the creators wished to inject new life into the series, Depp was ousted from the Disney franchise.
Nevertheless, the producers are now eager to have him back for a sixth film and a Disney Plus spin-off series in a $300 million contract, months after he won his high-profile legal battle against his ex-wife, Amber Heard, in June.
A fresh call sheet from the production states that Depp will take part in a test shoot in the UK in February, and the working title of the movie is ‘A Day At The Sea’.
A source told Sun media; “Johnny is set to return as Captain Jack Sparrow and is scheduled to start filming at the beginning of February at a top-secret location in the UK.
“Everything is in the early stages and there is still no director attached to the project, which is being called ‘A Day At The Sea’.”
The new project has Bruce Hendricks, who worked on the first three movies, listed as an executive producer, but no other information has been released.
Disney, according to available information, wants Johnny to return to his legendary role not only in the sixth movie but also in a spin-off series that explores the character’s past.
