A renowned journalist, Chief Dele Momodu Imade, has extended his warm congratulations to the singer and his wife, Chioma, on their wedding day.
The Ovation boss, an uncle to Davido’s first baby mama, Sophie Momodu made this known on his X handle.
Momodu’s heartfelt message, posted on social media, reads: “On behalf of the MOMODU family of IHIEVBE, EDO STATE, I wish to send our heartiest congratulations to @davido and his lovely wife @chefchioma on this special day of their wedding. May GOD almighty bless the union and provide you with good health, more prosperity and unlimited happiness.”
This gesture comes as a surprise to many, given the past disagreements between Sophia and Davido over custody and support for their daughter, Imade.
Davido, had dragged Sophia Momodu to the Lagos State High Court over the custody of their daughter, Aurora Imade Adeleke. The suit marked LD/1587PMC/2024 and dated April 17, 2024, has Mr David Adedeji Adeleke as applicant, while Ms Sophia Momodu was listed as the sole respondent.
The entertainer, however, urged the court for “an order granting joint custody of Miss Imade Adeleke.”
The congratulatory message has sparked a mix of reactions from fans and followers, with some commending Momodu’s maturity and others questioning the sincerity of his gesture.
@Oshirem55 said, “Great man . God bless you sir, regardless that ur daughter gave birth for him too called Imade. Even though your daughter and davido is not in good tends u still use ur elderly role to wish him well, is an applause for u sir. Keep it up sir✊♥️💯.”
@Kenke20 wrote,”You’ve done well My Boss…your consistency in character I Stan !.”
@MsDarme, wrote, “Someone is in court with your niece and you are here sending him congratulatory tweet. Later they ll say it’s women that are groupies for rich people 🌚.”
Recall that the duo got into a fight in December 2015, over custody issues of Davido’s and Sophie Momodu’s baby.
The matter spiralled into a war of words on social media between the two, after an alleged attempt by Davido to travel abroad with the baby without the mother.
Momodu, however, reportedly stopped the ‘FIA’ crooner from taking the then seven-month-old girl out of the country without her mother.
