Nigerian star artists, Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido, received awards at the prestigious All Africa Music Awards on Sunday night in Dakar, Senegal.
At the eighth iteration of the event, Grammy award-winning artist, Burna Boy, won the ‘Best Act in Africa’ award.
Additionally, he won the ‘Best Album of the Year’ award, topping artists like Didi B from Cote d’Ivoire and Kabza De Small from South Africa.
Ivorian singer, Didi B, was, however, the winner of the ‘Song of the Year Award’.
Star artist, Davido also won the ‘Best Male Act in African Inspirational Music’ Award, while afrobeat star, Wizkid took home the Best Act in West Africa honor.
Adekunle Gold received two awards for his collaboration with Davido on the song “High”: ‘Best Act Group in African Contemporary Music’ and ‘Best Act, Duo or Group in African Pop’.
The Best Female Act in West Africa prize went to Manamba Kanye, a singer from Guinea.
The four-day festival to honor African music legends came to a close with the awards night, which was held at the 15,000-seat Dakar Arena in Diamniadio, Senegal.
Among the artists that enthralled the audience at the occasion were Black Sheriff from Ghana and PSquare from Nigeria.
