Afropop star, David Adeleke, popularly called Davido, has announced his next move after playing an active role in the election of his uncle, Senator Ademola Adeleke, as the governor of the Osun State.
Punch Metro reported that Senator Adeleke who lost the election four years ago ousted the sitting Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, on Saturday, July 16 by polling 403,371 votes while his soon-to-be predecessor polled 375,027 votes.
However, 48 hours after the Independent National Electoral Commission declared Senator Adeleke the winner of the 209022 Osun governorship election, Davido who led a massive campaign in the state prior to the victory called out the electoral body on Twitter for delaying in issuing his uncle the Certificate of Return.
“48hrs after our @AAdeleke_01 victory at the Osun Gubernatorial elections, we are yet to receive our certificate. @inecnigeria should we send you fuel money? LOL Please no one should tamper with the will of the Osun People! Issue the certificate as required by Law,” he tweeted to his 11.9m followers on Tuesday.
Hours after Davido’s tweet, an INEC statement stating that the governor-elect will be issued his Certificate of Return on Wednesday went viral on Twitter.
