The Nigeria Customs Service Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, has made significant management appointments to fill key positions following the retirement of several senior officers
These appointments, made in an acting capacity, are aimed at enhancing strategic service delivery across the organization.
According to The PUNCH, the announcement was made in a statement released on Friday by the National Public Relations Officer of the NCS, Abdullahi Maiwada.
Adeniyi emphasized that the reshuffling of the management team is intended to bolster the service’s operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Among the new appointments, BM Jibo has been designated as the Deputy Comptroller-General responsible for Finance Administration and Technical Services.
Additionally, OA Alajogun has been named as the Acting Deputy Comptroller-General for Enforcement, Inspection, and Investigation, while IG Umar will serve as the Acting Assistant Comptroller-General at the headquarters.
Further strengthening the leadership team, OA Salefu has been appointed as the Acting Assistant Comptroller-General for the Training and Doctrine Command, BA Makinde as the Acting ACG for Human Resource Development, and Timi Bomodi will take on the role of Acting ACG for Enforcement, Inspection, and Investigation.
“OA Alajogun, acting DCG enforcement, inspection and investigation; IG Umar, acting ACG headquarters; OA Salefu, acting Assistant Comptroller-General, training and doctrine command; BA Makinde, acting ACG, human resource development; Timi Bomodi, acting ACG enforcement, inspection and investigation,” Adeniyi explained.
Adeniyi highlighted that these appointments reflect the officers’ outstanding service and unwavering dedication to the NCS.
He noted, “The service remains committed to providing strategic leadership to ensure effective and efficient service delivery for optimum performance.”
In recognizing the contributions of the outgoing officers, Adeniyi expressed his gratitude for their years of meritorious service.
He also urged the newly appointed officials to intensify their efforts to ensure that the NCS continues to excel in its core mandates, which include revenue generation, suppression of smuggling, and trade facilitation.
