Nigerian lawyer Ayo Sogunro, who was arrested by Police of the Garki command, Abuja, has been released.
Sogunro, who made this known via his Twitter handle, described it as a “whirlwind of more than 18hrs.”
“l’m out now. It’s been a whirlwind 18+ hours. Grateful for the messages and the awesome people around me and lots of people who reached out. It was an unexpected “welcome to Nigeria.
“Will document the experience properly later. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾,” he tweeted.
Sogunro, a lawyer and a critic of successive Nigerian administrations, was arrested on Friday evening.
He was reportedly picked up by five policemen from his hotel room in Abuja.
PUNCH Metro contacted Abuja PRO, Adeh Josephine, for comments about the detention she picked and stated she can’t respond as she’s worshipping.
