A Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the remand of three workers from the Lagos State House of Assembly in the custody of the Department of State Security Services over an alleged assault on security officers.
The defendants, Ibrahim Olanrewaju, Adetu Adekunle, and Fatimoh Adetola, were listed in charge No. FHC/L/273C/2025, dated February 24, 2025.
They, along with others still at large, are accused of conspiring to obstruct and assault security operatives on duty.
During Tuesday’s proceedings, DSS counsel Mr. Michael Bajela requested their arraignment.
However, Justice Daniel Osiagor ruled that he needed to review the case file before proceeding. He then ordered that the defendants remain in DSS custody until their arraignment, which is scheduled for Wednesday.
According to the charges, the alleged offence occurred on February 17 at the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The DSS claims the defendants obstructed officers without lawful justification and engaged in cyberstalking by recording and disseminating false information on social media to incite public disorder.
The agency further alleged that Olanrewaju and Adekunle used an iPhone 12 Pro Max, while Adekunle also used a Tecno POP 8, to spread misleading content aimed at embarrassing the agency and disrupting public peace.
The alleged offences are said to be in violation of Section 516 of the Criminal Code Act, Laws of the Federation, 2004.
