A Magistrate Court in Ilorin, Kwara State, has remanded a suspect identified as Ibrahim Hamza in prison for allegedly trading human parts.
The Punch reported that Hamza, who was arrested by the police at the Balogun Fulani Motor Park, Ilorin, about three weeks ago, was alleged to be in possession of a human skull.
The police first information report said the 41-year-old herbalist engaged in trafficking human parts through couriers and commercial vehicles from Lagos to Kwara states.
The report further said a discreet investigation revealed that “the suspect confessed to have received broken pieces of a human skull from one Awal who resides in Lagos in a package sent through commercial transportation.”
He further confessed that the same Awal sent him a human skull which he used for money ritual and to boost his farm produce.
Hamza reportedly told the police that he spent about N87,000 to buy the human skull, horse and chimpanzee heads, which he combined to make the farm ritual charms.
The prosecution said Awal had yet to be apprehended.
When the charges were read to the suspect in court, his plea was not taken for lack of jurisdiction.
