A Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo, Osun State, has nullified the local government election held on October 15, 2022.
According to The PUNCH, the presiding judge, Justice Nathaniel Emmanuel Ayoola sacked all the chairmen and councillors elected into the local governments across the state.
According to his verdict, the election conducted by the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission, was in contravention of Section 29 & 32 of the Electoral Act, 2022.
It would be recalled that the Peoples Democratic Party had approached the court asking it to stop OSIEC from going ahead with the planned polls.
Other respondents in the matter include INEC, APC and its then chairman, Adeboyega Famoodun.
