A 38-year-old man, Afeez Gbadamosi, faced arraignment before the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence court in Lagos on Tuesday, following allegations of sexually molesting his two underage sons, aged three and seven.
According to The PUNCH, the Lagos State Government filed four counts of sexual assault and indecent behavior against Gbadamosi for the alleged incidents that occurred between 2021 and 2022 in the Iyanamuda area of Agric, Ikorodu, Lagos State.
Prosecutor Abimbola Abolade presented the case, stating that the defendant was accused of sexually assaulting the boys by inserting his finger into their anus.
He was also alleged to have indecently touched their genitals, pressed their buttocks, and exposed them to sexual intercourse with his wife.
The charges brought against Gbadamosi were in violation of Sections 261 and 264 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges. His counsel, O.O Oladipupo, requested the court grant bail to his client on liberal terms.
Justice Abiola Sholadoye, however, remanded the defendant in the Ikoyi Custodial Center until he could fulfill the bail conditions, adjourning the case for trial on November 20, 2023.
