Following the report that Ghanaian international, Christian Atsu, has been found after the Turkey earthquake, comments from his Turkish club’s coach, Volkan Demirel, has raised further doubts about his safety.
It would be recalled that multiple international news outlets had confirmed that the player has been found alive but injured.
Marca, Goal.com, all quoted Portuguese Media Platform, A Bola, stating that the player has been rescued.
Also, the club’s manager, Mustafa Özat, has also confirmed the development.
“Christian Atsu was removed from the wreckage with injuries,” Özat told Turkish radio channel Radyo Gol.
Furthermore, Italian Sport journalist, Fabrizio Romano, on Tuesday morning posted on his social media page that Atsu, has been found.
“Christian Atsu has been found alive and has now been rescued from the rubble and transported to hospital after suffering injuries to his right foot and suffering from breathing difficulties,” he posted.
However in a latest development Demirel, has stated that the player is yet to be found.
“I don’t have good news, still not found under the rubble,” Volkan Demirel told AFP.
Also, Atsu’s image agent Gaynor Frascione said she was worried about her client.
“We don’t know. Everyone is trying to locate in which medical centre he could be,” she told AFP.
