Super Eagles forward, Samuel Chukwueze, could be on his way back to Spain, with La Liga side Real Sociedad reportedly eyeing a move for the winger, according to Italian publication All Milan.
Chukwueze joined AC Milan from Villarreal in the summer of 2023 for €20 million plus significant bonuses, making him the club’s most expensive signing in a transfer window that saw 10 new arrivals at San Siro.
However, his time in Italy has yet to reach the heights of his impressive five-year stint at Villarreal’s Estadio de la Cerámica.
Since making the switch to the Rossoneri, the 25-year-old has struggled to find his best form, registering seven goals and four assists in 56 appearances.
Despite scoring a crucial winner against Parma on Sunday to keep Milan in the Serie A title race, the club is reportedly open to offloading him.
Italian outlet All Milan referenced reports from Spain, indicating Sociedad’s interest in the Nigerian.
“The Nigerian’s future is not as clear as it may seem. From Spain, they report that Real Sociedad is on his trail. This is what the Spanish newspaper Super Deporte wrote,” the publication stated.
Milan is expected to make squad adjustments this summer, with several players, including Chukwueze, possibly leaving to facilitate new signings.
Other names linked with exits include Emerson Royal and Strahinja Pavlovic, who are drawing interest from Turkey, while Noah Okafor has attracted suitors from England.
Although no official bids have been made for Chukwueze, a move away from Milan could signal the end of his Serie A journey after just 18 months.
