Chude Jideonwo, the well-known host of the weekly interview series #WithChude, has been appointed as the new Board Chairman for The Initiative for Equal Rights a non-profit organization based in Nigeria.
In November2023, TIERs announced Jideonwo’s appointment, acknowledging Bakare-Yusuf’s commendable10-year tenure.
Jideonwo succeeded Bibi Bakare-Yusuf, the founder of Cassava Republic Press, who had served as the board chair since the organization’s inception.
Jideonwo expressed his gratitude for the new role on his Instagram page, acknowledging Bakare-Yusuf’s exceptional leadership and thanking TIERs’ partners for their support over the years.
While expressing excitement to hand over to Jideonwo, she added that his leadership will accelerate the expansion of the organisation.
She said, “I am excited to hand over to Chude whose work across the continent in the media, for young people and for minorities has inspired many over the past two decades. I am confident that his leadership will continue TEIRs’ mission of promoting equal rights and social justice while accelerating the growth and impact of an organisation we all deeply believe in.”
Established in2005, TIERs focuses on advocating for the rights of Nigerians, providing empowerment, education, and creating safe platforms for convergence.
