An aide to former president Mohammed Buhari, Bashir Ahmad has called on Muslims to honour Jesus Christ noting that Islam gave a huge respect to Him.
Ahmad disclosed this as part of message to felicitate Christian during the Christmas celebration on X, former Twitter handle on Monday.
He said, in the Holy Quran, all Muslims respect and honour Him as they to all prophets.
Speaking further, Ahmad noted that the belief in all prophets without discrimination significant to Islamic faith, adding that insulting any prophets is regarded as going contrary to the Islamic tenet.
“In Islam, Jesus (known as Isa (AS) is revered as one of the prophets sent by Allah (SWT), and all Muslims respect and honor him as they do all the prophets mentioned in the Holy Quran.
“The belief in all the prophets without discrimination is an essential part of the Islamic faith. Respect for all prophets is paramount, and insulting any prophet is considered as leaving Islam,” Ahmad said
Ahmad was a Communications Assistant to Muhammadu Buhari, between 2015 – 2023.
