A cholera outbreak in Ekureku community, Abi local government area of Cross River state have led to the death of over 20 persons.
According to The Sun, a source who pleaded anonymity stated that the outbreak was noticed two days ago when some villagers started feeling severe diarrhoea and dehydration.
The source also explained that the villagers thought it was a minor health challenge until the affected villagers started passing out watery stools before passing out.
According to a village head, over 20 persons have allegedly died of cholera disease across the villages.
The village head also pleaded with the government and non-governmental organizations to come to their aid.
In a telephone chat with the Special Adviser on Health to Governor Ben Ayade, Dr. David Ushie, he said, “Let me get across to the ministry to know the true position of things and get back to you”
