The online gaming regulator in China granted licenses to 27 foreign games in March, including titles from Tencent Holdings (0700.HK), NetEase Inc (9999.HK), and Bilibili Inc (9626.HK).
The National Press and Publication Administration approved at least one game by Tencent, Merge Mansion, a mobile game called Audition: Everybody Party by NetEase, and a game named Shanyao! Youjunshaonu by Bilibili.
This is the second batch of foreign online games to receive publishing licenses in China, following a crackdown that halted approval for 18 months between 2021 and 2022.
In December, China ended the crackdown on the video game industry, and regulators resumed issuing game licenses to homegrown and imported games.
Among the notable titles approved in this batch are Gorogoa and Wizard of Legend by XD Inc (2400.HK), Fairy Tale: Fighting, a mobile game, and Yo-kai Watch 4, a console game.
