Caleb University is set to hold its 12th convocation ceremony from Thursday, January 19 till Saturday, January 21.
The University made this known on it’s official website, with the Information, Media and Publication Specialist, Olawale Adekoya, making a formal disclosure in a signed statement on Thursday.
According to the statement, this year’s convocation is scheduled to hold during the founder’s week and is tagged: ‘Digital Disruptions, Financial Inclusion, StartUps and the Challenge of Youth Creativity’.
The university’s main campus in Imota, Lagos State would be the venue for the ceremony, with the presence of dignitaries such as the Managing Director and CEO, AIICO Insurance Plc, Babatunde Fajemirokun, who is the convocation lecturer.
The College of Pure and Applied Sciences and the College of Education is scheduled to hold their convocation on the opening day, Thursday, January 19.
The College of Arts, Social and Management Sciences will hold theirs on the second day, Friday, January, 20 and the College of Environmental Studies as well as the College of Post Graduate Studies will hold theirs on Saturday, January 21, which will also feature the Convocation/Founder’s Day Lecture and award of honorary degrees.
Caleb University, Imota, Lagos was given provisional license by the Federal Government of Nigeria to operate as a private University on May 17, 2007.
The Proprietor of the University is Caleb International College Ltd with Dr. Ola Adebogun as the Chairman, and Visitor of the University.
The University commenced full academic activities on January 21, 2008 with admission into three Colleges College of Environmental Sciences and Management (COLENSMA), College of Pure and Applied Sciences (COPAS), and College of Social and Management Sciences (COSOMAS).
The University started operations in January 2008 from its approved Take-Off Site on Ikosi GRA, off CMD Road from where it moved to the 110-hectare permanent site at Km 15 Ikorodu-Itoikin Road, Imota, Lagos in November 2009. The University has produced 11 sets of graduates who have been mobilized in succession for the one-year mandatory National Youth Service Scheme, from 2011.
