The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (ret.d) has returned to Abuja on Sunday morning after his official visit to Washington DC, where he attended the US-Africa Leaders’ Summit.
The governors of the states of Kwara and Bauchi, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and Bala Mohammed, respectively, and the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Ramatu Tijani Aliyu, met the President on Sunday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja to welcome him.
The Director-General of the Department of State Service, Yusuf Magaji Bichi, the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, and other top security officials met the President at the airport as well.
The US President, Joe Biden, extended an invitation to President Buhari to attend the Summit with other African leaders.
President Buhari took part in a number of events while in Washington DC.
He spoke on important issues confronting the African continent, such as security, climate change, transnational organized crime, and more, during a number of high-level meetings and discussions about US-Africa relations while in Washington, DC.
A few high-level deals with American businesses were also achieved during his side meetings with them.
He concluded his visit with a town hall meeting with the Nigerian population in the US.
