Former President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated the family of an Islamic cleric, Sheikh Abubakar Giro Argungu on his demise.
Buhari described his death as a major loss for Nigeria and the Muslim world as a whole.
The preacher’s death was announced in a post on his verified Facebook page late Wednesday, by the leader of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatus Sunnah in Nigeria, Bala Lau,
Buhari send his condolence message following the death of the cleric.
“Condolences to his family and admirers,” said the former President.
“Sheikh Giro was a towering figure in our national life.
“Throughout his life, he stood for Islamic values and demonstrated his commitment to good society through his utterances and his actions. May Allah repose his soul and grant him Jannatul-Firdaus.”
