At the State House in Abuja on Monday afternoon, the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (ret.d), met the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.
Nearly an hour after the President had left the Police Force Headquarters to display several patrol cars that would be used in the approaching elections, Emefiele arrived at the presidential mansion.
The CBN Chief has met the President at least six times in total, both alone and with other government representatives.
Recall that Emefiele attended the Council of State meeting on Friday and assured the Council that the shortage of fresh naira notes will not impede the free flow of logistics during the election.
The cash crunch and the ensuing crisis are thought to have been discussed by both presidents, despite Emefiele declining to talk with press following the meeting.
