The All Progressives Congress candidate for the chairman of Jere Local Government Area of Borno State, Hajiya Inna Galadima has been declared elected.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, she was declared winner by the Returning Officer of Jere LGA, Prof. Mohammed Konto.
Her emergence automatically makes her the first female to be elected council chairman in the state.
Galadima was once a onetime commissioner and special adviser in Borno
Konto said she scored 110,459 votes to defeat her closest rival in the Peoples Democratic Party, who scored 2,478 votes.
Results from other LGAs in the Saturday’s election have started trickling in, with APC candidates in the lead.
