A renowned Nigerian actress, Onyinye Okafor, has revealed that her big tummy posed a threat to her acting career.
The mother of four, in a chat with The Sun, stressed that her big tummy which came as an aftermath of childbirth made her doubt if she would make it at Nollywood.
The actress who is currently working on a project titled ‘Wahala’ said she had to fight low esteem and this has helped her rise to stardom.
She said, “I had to overcome low self-esteem. I had a big tummy because of childbirth, but that’s gone now. It was a major challenge for me. I had to go for a tummy tuck. Now, my tummy is perfect and I got back my self-confidence.”
She also explained that it cost her patience, consistency and prayers to get to where she is now.
The TV star who said that she had always been a TV person right from her childhood age added, ” I learnt to be patient, consistent and prayerful. Also, I put in more effort, more hard work to get better and receive good payment.”
