The Nigeria Secretary and Civil Defence Corps, Bauchi State Command, has arrested three suspected vandals of one electricity transformer located at Sabon Kafi village in the Jama’are local government area of the state.
The Command Public Relations Officer stated this in a press statement.
“on 20th September 2023, at about 0830 hrs, information at the Division’s disposal revealed that suspected vandals invaded Sabon kafi village under Jama’are LGA.
“On receipt of the report, NSCDC operatives in collaboration with local security hunters, swung into action and arrested the suspects.
“They were arrested with the exhibits which are an up-riser cable 2 in number, 12m in length each of 70mm square X4 was cut.
“The suspects are Abdulwahab Yakubu, 18 years old of Unguwar Abuja; Ya’u Abdullahi 18 years old of Unguwar Tsamiya and Musa Haruna who is at large, all of Jama’are LGA.
“The exhibits recovered from the suspects included up-riser cable 2 in number measuring 12mx70mm square, one hacksaw, one knife and one pinches.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the 1st and 2nd suspects were involved in vandalizing and stealing armour cables at Kafata transformer in Itas- Gadau LGA”, the statement read.
Meanwhile, the suspected transformer cable vandals were arraigned before the Federal High Court, Bauchi on Friday for conspiracy and vandalism.
The arrested suspects include Abdulwahab Yakubu, 18 years of Unguwar Abuja; Ya’u Abdullahi 18 years of Unguwar Tsamiya and Musa Haruna 19years all of Jama’are LGA.
The State Commandant, CC. WO Ilelaboye had earlier paraded the suspected vandals at the NSCDC State Command Bauchi; warning other criminal elements in the state to turn a new leaf before the law catches up with them.
