Legendary Nigerian comedian, Bright Okpocha, professionally known as, Basketmouth, has broken his silence concerning his lingering feud with his colleague, AY.
PUNCH Metro had reported that AY in a recent interview said the 17-year conflict was due to a business transaction that went sour.
AY revealed that trouble started after Basketmouth requested him to perform at a show on his behalf and afterwards refused to remit the agreed N30,000 payment, which the organizer confirmed had been made before the show.
Although, the comedian cum filmmaker admitted he was wrong in his approach of recovering his money from Basketmouth but stated that the attempt was not to get at him.
However, Basketmouth, during his ‘Unprovoked’ tour in Europe on Friday was questioned by a member of the audience to comment on the 30K payment saga.
In a video captured during the show and shared by a TikTok user @iamericardo, Basket, as he is fondly called, said he has decided to keep mute on the issue and didn’t want AY to hear anything from him again.
He said, “To be honest, I would love to talk about it, but the truth is some people will record it, and people would say I responded. But to be honest I don’t want Ay to ever hear from me again.”
