Suspected bandits have launched a deadly attack on Kanzanna village in Bunza Local Government Area of Kebbi State, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and the kidnapping of three others.
According to Daily Post, the incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday at around 3 am.
The Public Relations Officer of the Kebbi State Police Command,SP Nafi’u Abubakar, confirmed the attack in Birnin Kebbi.
He further revealed that Kebbi State’s Commissioner of Police, Mr. Chris Aimiono-Wane, had visited the village to express condolences to the affected residents.
He also stated that in response to the incident, a combined team of mobile, anti-kidnapping, and counter-terrorism personnel has been deployed to the area.
These law enforcement units are currently engaged in an extensive search operation, covering nearby forests, routes, and suspected bandit hideouts, with the primary objective of tracking the bandits and safely rescuing the kidnapped victims.
He also revealed that the state commissioner of police, Aimiono-Wane has strongly condemned the attack and offered assurance to the families of the abducted individuals, pledging that the police command will work tirelessly to secure the safe return of the victims.
