Bandits have kidnapped 37 persons from Azara, Jangala and Kadara, in Kagarko and Kachia Local Government Areas of Kaduna State.
According to Daily Post, the victims are mostly women, including three nursing mothers and children.
A retired soldier and one of his sons were reportedly killed by the kidnappers as they attempted to abduct the victims from their home in the Katambi hamlet only two kilometers outside of Kateri town along the Abuja – Kaduna highway.
The incident has been confirmed by the Sarkin Azara, Mustapha Ibrahim in Kachia Local Government, confirmed the abduction over the phone.
According to him, the bandits stormed the Azara community around 12 a.m. on Thursday, wielding weapons and in large numbers, and took 10 people with them.
He stated that the victims were four ladies, three nursing moms, and six male adults.
He went on to say that before they could warn soldiers on patrol along the roadway to come to their aid, the bandits had already fled with their victims.
He went on to say that the robbers returned to a Fulani village near Azara known as (Rugan Alhaji Karbo) and kidnapped two herders in the camp.
