The wives of the ex-Oyo Park Management System boss, Mukaila Lamidi popularly known as Auxiliary have described how their husband was whisked away by masked uniformed men.
Punch Metro reported that the wanted ex-PMS boss was ‘arrested’ on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, by men suspected to be operatives of the Department of States Services.
According to his wives, Auxiliary was having fun with his friends at his residence in Olodo, Ibadan, Oyo State when his abductors surrounded him.
The incident was said to have occurred around 4 pm at the Alagbon area, close to Omolewa, in Olodo.
According to the wives, the suspected DSS operatives whisked their husband away in an unmarked Hilux vehicle.
One of the wives, Omotayo Lamidi narrated the ordeal, “We were all in our shop when we received an urgent call that our husband had been abducted from the hall where he was socializing. We were shocked and confused, as it happened unexpectedly.”
Omotayo said, “We were all in our shop when we received an urgent call that our husband had been abducted from the hall where he was socializing. We were shocked and confused, as it happened unexpectedly.”
She added, “There were many of them, and their cars had no number plates. We don’t know where they have taken our husband. We are appealing to you to please help us contact them and secure his release.”
Another wife, who was visibly shaken, recounted, “We weren’t present at the incident, but we were contacted afterwards. We have been trying his phone line, but it’s been unreachable. We don’t know his whereabouts, as the men and the car are unidentified.”
She continued, “His son called me, saying they had taken his father away. Before they left, they shot into the air. We don’t know where they have taken him. The Hilux car had no plate number or logo; we don’t know who they are or where they are from.”
The wives explained that Auxiliary’s friends were the first to notice the approaching Hilux and fled before he was taken away.
“His friends were able to escape, but he was surrounded before he could get up. My son, who was there, managed to escape by walking backwards, trying to observe the car and its occupants.”
Rift with Makinde explained before arrest
Before his arrest, Auxiliary revealed some details about his relationship with the state government, particularly implicating Seye Famojuro, a trusted ally of Governor Seyi Makinde.
Auxiliary, in an online interview, alleged that Famojuro, whom he met during a campaign, had turned against him, causing a rift between him and the governor.
According to Auxiliary, Famojuro prevented him from benefiting from his efforts in securing a win for the Peoples Democratic Party in the last local government election.
He stated, “If he (Famojuro) is the governor or Seyi Makinde is, we will know. It is just a matter of time. Everybody will face the consequences of their actions. The people he chose to manage the park are cheating themselves. Seye will still go back to Ijesha because Ibadan is not his town. Only Governor Seyi Makinde and I will remain here because we won’t run away. And I see that the bird is not working, but God feeds it. Seye will reap the seeds of his actions.”
