Troops of 17 Brigade in collaboration with the Nigeria Police, have rescued two Corps members kidnapped by bandits in Yargoje community, Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Director, Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
He revealed that the criminals abducted the Corps members while they were transiting from Edo to Katsina State, noting that the quick response of military forces and the police resulted in the successful rescue of the victims from their captors.
Nwachukwu stated that the rescued Corps members have been offered necessary medical attention and support to ensure their physical and emotional well-being and are currently in the custody of the Nigeria Police in Kankara.
The army spokesman further called for the cooperation and support of the public in providing timely and relevant information to boost troops’ proactive operational engagement of criminal elements posing threat to the country.
