Former two-time unified Heavyweight Champion of the World Anthony Joshua, on Saturday evening defeated American fighter, Jermain Franklin.
The fight which took place at the O2 Arena, was attended by over 20,000 spectators.
At the end of the match, Joshua defeated Franklin by a unanimous decision in his return to the ring.
It would be recalled that Joshua made his return to the ring for the first time since losing in heart-breaking fashion to Oleksandr Usyk in their rematch last August.
The match has continued to generate various reactions from boxing fans across the world
@Tony, tweeted after the fight, “#JoshuaFranklin AJ got the job done and against a tricky and game JF , but something missing with AJ disinterested at times & that tear up button he had when it heats up has long gone. I’m an AJ fan but fury beats him fairly easily.”
Also @Smileyi, tweeted, “AJs best performance in the ring tonight, was him trying to be the comedian after the fight finished.
I’m sure he’s a lovely bloke, but to think him and Tyson, should even be a thing, is like me saying Kylie Minogue will look at me in ‘that’ way.”
@4eyedliwa also tweeted, “It’s a win that feels like a loss really.Even Joshua says no one would remember the fight in 10-15 years.”
While @JasonBeese, tweeted,”Fair play to Franklin and Joshua clear winner. But Fury, Wilder, Ruiz and more would have had Franklin out of there.
Joshua is still fighting Andy Ruiz in his head, is too cautious and second tier now. No class again from Joshua at the end either.”
