The Commissioner for Youth Development in Anambra State, Patrick Mba, and his wife have been released by their captors after spending a day in captivity.
According to The PUNCH, a top government official, “The kidnapped Commissioner of Youth Development and his wife have been released today. To God be the glory.”
The couple was kidnapped on Friday along the Edo-Kogi Expressway while travelling to Abuja for the wedding of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s daughter.
Unfortunately, one of the commissioner’s aides was killed during the kidnapping.
The state government is expected to state the development soon.
“We are grateful to God for their safe return,” said the official, who spoke anonymously.
