Spanish footballer Aitana Bonmati has been crowned the Best Women’s Player for the second consecutive year, adding yet another accolade to her impressive résumé, which already includes two Ballon d’Or titles.
“I’m grateful, I’m proud to receive this award,” Bonmati shared via video link from Barcelona’s Olympic Stadium.
Bonmati’s extraordinary season saw her guide Barcelona to an unprecedented continental quadruple.
On the international stage, she further cemented her legacy by securing the Nations League title with Spain.
In the 2023/24 campaign, Bonmati achieved a clean sweep of trophies in club football, claiming the Spanish league, the Copa de la Reina, the Supercopa de España, and a second straight Women’s Champions League title.
In the Champions League final, she delivered a standout performance, scoring a goal and earning the Player of the Match award as Barcelona triumphed 2-0 over Lyon to claim their third title in four years.
Meanwhile, Manchester United’s Argentine forward Alejandro Garnacho clinched the Puskás Award for Goal of the Year, thanks to his stunning bicycle kick against Everton in the Premier League.
