Air Peace, a leading airline in Nigeria, has refuted claims that it plans to raise its fare for a one-way flight from Lagos to Abuja to N200,000, addressing viral rumours that the cost would spike from the current N114,000 to the higher amount by November 1, 2024.
The viral post, which circulated widely online, displayed an image of Air Peace’s Chairman, Mr. Allen Onyema, and implied that the airline was implementing a significant price hike.
However, the airline, in an official statement released on Saturday, clarified that it has not announced any changes to its pricing and that the alleged fare increase is unfounded.
Air Peace emphasized that the information in circulation was false and unendorsed by the company, urging passengers to disregard the misleading post.
The statement clarified, “We would like to categorically state that this information is false and did not originate from Air Peace. We have not released any official statement regarding a fare increase as described, and any announcements regarding our pricing would only be made through our verified channels. We encourage our valued customers and clients to rely exclusively on these platforms for accurate updates and information on fares.”
The airline reiterated its commitment to keeping its customers accurately informed and advised that any updates regarding fare adjustments would be communicated through Air Peace’s official platforms only.
This clarification aims to assure the public that there is no imminent doubling of fares, as suggested in the viral post.
