The Nigerian Air Force has officially declared a recruitment advertisement that is being circulated on various social media platforms as fraudulent and deceptive, with the intention of deceiving and defrauding potential applicants.
This was stated through a statement by the NAF Director, Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, on Monday in Abuja.
He said “NAF is not recruiting”, and warned applicants not to fall prey to fraudsters.
According to Gabkwet, the advertisement did not come from the NAF, and he reminded Nigerians that on July 8 the NAF had graduated new members of the Basic Military Training Course 43/2022.
He claims that the public will always be aware of when the NAF is holding a recruitment drive.
“The public is once again reminded that the recruitment and selection process into the NAF is free and without any form of gratification. Anyone who pays money under any guise does so at his or her own risk.
Additionally, there are no recruitment agencies involved in the NAF recruitment process; therefore, anyone claiming to work for the NAF in this capacity is a fraud.
“The NAF wishes to advise prospective applicants to promptly report anyone who solicits payments to the nearest NAF Unit or the Nigeria Police Force,” he said.
