The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps’ Akwa Ibom State Command has gotten a new state commandant, Dr. Adam Yusuf Imam, Commandant.
This development was contained in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Akwa Ibom State Command, DSC Ekerete Friday.
Adam succeeded Commandant Suleiman Ibrahim Mafara, who was recently transferred to the National Headquarters of the NSCDC in Abuja.
Comdt Imam said in a brief statement to officers shortly after the takeover, “I am here to carry out the mandates of the corps as enshrined in the NSCDC ACT 2003 and 2007 (Amendment Act). I cannot do it alone. So, I need your support to succeed and justify the confidence reposed on us by the federal government and Nigerians.”
Commending his predecessor for his outstanding contributions and dedication to his fatherland in Akwa Ibom State, he promised to bring new zest and vigor to actualizing the missions of the corps.
After graduating from Usmanu Dan Fodio University with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Administration, he went on to the University of Abuja for his Master’s degree in International Relations.
Comdt. Adam Yusuf Imam also bagged a PhD in International Relations from the Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma, in 2019.
