An Abuja-bound train derailed on Sunday along the Abuja-Kaduna route, leaving passengers stranded in the Jere area of Kaduna State.
Senator Shehu Sani, who previously represented Kaduna North in the Senate, shared an alert on his verified X handle about the incident.
He noted that “a minor Abuja, Kaduna morning train derail near Jere but engineers are attending to it.”
Though the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has yet to release an official statement, it is anticipated that the issue will be resolved swiftly.
Senator Sani, who had also reported another derailment on the same route about a year ago, urged the NRC to prioritize the safety of the stranded passengers.
He stated, “Kaduna Abuja Train derails; NRC please ensure the security and safety of the stranded passengers.”
