The Federal Government has extended the deadline for applications into the Federal Civil Service to March 17, 2025, allowing more Nigerians to participate in the recruitment process.
The Federal Civil Service Commission initially launched the recruitment exercise on January 27, 2025, offering over 70 positions across various ministries, departments, and agencies.
However, numerous applicants reported difficulties accessing the recruitment portal, leading to widespread calls for an extension.
Confirming the extension, FCSC spokesperson Hassan Taiwo acknowledged the technical issues faced by some applicants but noted that others had successfully completed their registration.
“The Commission is aware that some applicants encountered challenges with the portal, but many were still able to submit their applications,” Taiwo stated.
In an advertisement published in national newspapers and shared by Taiwo on Monday, the Commission officially announced the new deadline, replacing the earlier one set for March 10, 2025.
“The Federal Civil Service Commission has extended the closing date for applications to Monday, March 17, 2025, to enable more eligible candidates to apply,” the statement read.
The notice further clarified that this update replaces the previous announcement from January 27, 2025, and has been published on the FCSC website (www.fedcivilservice.gov.ng) as well as in The Sun and The Nation newspapers of March 10, 2025, and Daily Trust of March 11, 2025.
The Commission urged qualified Nigerians to seize the opportunity and assured applicants of a fair and transparent recruitment process.
“We encourage all eligible candidates to apply before the new deadline. The Commission remains committed to a merit-based and transparent selection process,” the statement concluded.
