The Benue State Police Command has refuted claims of ritual killings in the state, stating that there are no recorded cases of such crimes.
Speaking in Makurdi on Sunday, the State Police Command’s Spokesperson, CSP Catherine Anene, emphasized that while other criminal activities exist, there has been no reported incident of ritual killings.
Anene further dismissed speculation about the presence of cannibals or a human parts market in the state.
“We don’t have intelligence reports of any human parts market in Benue,” she stated.
She reassured the public of the police’s vigilance, adding, “So we have not recorded any ritual killing; there are other crimes, but not this particular one. We are always on red alert.”
