An Osun State bread baker, Sikiru Ayinde, who was kidnapped on July 18, 2022 has been released, the state Police Command confirmed.
Ayinde had been kidnapped when he was on his way to deliver bread to customers in the Ifewara town of the state, and his captors had demanded N5 million for his release.
According to Daily Post, the Osun State Police Command’s spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed that Ayinde was released on Tuesday, a day after at 9pm.
The Command, however, was mum on payment of ransom.
The PPRO, in a statement, said, “One Sikiru Ayinde who was kidnapped on 18/07/22 while going to distribute bread to his customers in Ifewara area has been released on 19/07/22 at about 2130hrs. He has gone for treatment at an undisclosed hospital.”
