American singer-songwriter, Lainey Wilson, 32, is set to tie the knot with her longtime partner, former NFL quarterback Devlin “Duck” Hodges, 28.
The couple got engaged after four years of dating.
“4x4xU forever,” the Grammy Award winner shared on Instagram Wednesday night, confirming the happy news.
For the special moment, Wilson donned a long red coat, her signature bell bottoms, and a cowboy hat as she accepted Hodges’ proposal.
In a romantic setting on a tan brick patio, surrounded by roses, candles, and framed photos from their four-year journey together, Hodges popped the question with a ring presented inside a cowboy hat box.
A black-and-white snapshot captured the couple sharing a kiss, with Wilson proudly showing off her sparkling engagement ring.
During an August 2024 episode of the “Country Heat Weekly” podcast, Wilson had humorously revealed her engagement ring expectations.
“I don’t care what shape it is, but I want to be walkin’ with a limp,” she joked.
The pair first met in 2021 through mutual friends in Nashville and made their red-carpet debut at the ACM Awards in May 2023.
While their romance wasn’t initially public, insiders in Nashville knew of Hodges’ presence at Wilson’s shows long before they officially stepped out together.
“It was clear that they made each other so happy,” a source told The Post. “Everybody is rooting for Lainey and this new chapter. She truly is the sweetest!”
Wilson, a nine-time CMA Award winner from Baskin, Louisiana, once admitted that love songs didn’t come easily to her because she had never experienced the kind of romance that inspired that kind of music.
But meeting Hodges changed everything, as she revealed in a 2023 interview with American Songwriter.
Just in January, Wilson joked during an interview with Bunnie Xo on CMT that she might have to take matters into her own hands.
“I might have to propose to him,” she laughed. Bunnie quickly responded, “No, Duck’s gonna do it. I could feel it.”
Balancing their relationship wasn’t always easy, especially in the early days. Hodges, who played for the Pittsburgh Steelers before a brief stint with the LA Rams in 2021, retired from professional football in 2022 and became a licensed real estate agent with Myers Cobb Realtors in Tennessee.
Wilson, meanwhile, was at the height of her career. Between releasing two albums in 2021 and 2022, landing a recurring role on the Emmy-nominated show Yellowstone, and preparing to open her own honky-tonk bar in Nashville, her schedule was packed.
Despite their busy lives, the couple made it work, and now they’re ready to start their next chapter together.
Hodges, who enjoys life on the road with Wilson, has embraced his new role as her biggest supporter.
“Traveling to concerts and being on the road with his girlfriend and your favorite country music artist, Lainey Wilson,” he shared after retiring from football.
