The popular Okobaba plank Market in the Ebute Metta area of Lagos State was gutted by fire on Monday, destroying properties.
Punch Metro can’t immediately confirm the cause of the fire incident but men of the fire service have been drafted to the area to put the situation under control.
According to the Lagos State Emergency Agency, its fire unit has responded to the above incident and is currently working to control the fire alongside Lagos Fire and Federal Fire Services.
“The agency has made a request for security cover as hoodlums and miscreants are hampering the efforts of the joint responders,” LASEMA’s DG, Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, said.
