American rapper and record producer, Kanye West, has appealed to United States President, Donald Trump to intervene in securing the release of Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is currently in custody on sex trafficking charges.
West took to social media to make his request, writing, “@realDonaldTrump PLEASE FREE MY BROTHER PUFF.”
His message follows a recent shift in his Instagram activity, where he began following Combs, alongside only his wife, Bianca Censori.
This marks a notable change from last week when West reshared a post emphasizing that the only person he follows is pop star Taylor Swift.
West and Combs share a long musical history, having collaborated on several tracks such as “All Day,” “Sanctified,” and “Guard Down.”
However, Combs’ legal battles have taken center stage in recent months, as he faces multiple accusations of sexual misconduct and abuse.
Combs has denied all allegations, with his legal team dismissing them as “publicity stunts” designed to tarnish his image ahead of his trial.
The charges against Combs include lawsuits from two women who allege he drugged and coerced them into sexual acts in the 1990s.
Prosecutors have charged him with sex trafficking, accusing him of running a violent and exploitative criminal enterprise.
He is currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, awaiting his trial on May 5. If found guilty, Combs could face life in prison.
Meanwhile, Kanye West has stirred his own share of controversy after his appearance at the 2025 Grammy Awards.
His wife, Bianca Censori, caused a buzz on the red carpet when she removed her black fur coat, revealing a sheer outfit underneath. The provocative moment, reportedly orchestrated by West as part of a publicity stunt for his upcoming album “Vultures 1,” sparked heated debates online.
Legal experts, however, clarified that Censori is unlikely to face charges since her attire does not meet the legal definition of indecent exposure under California law.
Security eventually escorted the couple out of the venue, as they were not officially invited to the ceremony.
Nonetheless, video footage later surfaced showing West and Censori attending an afterparty, seemingly unfazed by the backlash.
It remains to be seen if Donald Trump will respond to West’s public plea, though the former president has a history of granting clemency to high-profile individuals, including rappers Lil Wayne and Kodak Black.
