Some Nigerians on social media have slammed controversial hip-hop singer Habeeb Okikiola aka Portable for his endorsement of All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu; and Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola.
The musician had drummed support for Oyetola ahead of the July 18 governorship election in the state.
In a video he posted on his Instagram page on Wednesday, Portable urged his fans in Osun to vote for the governor who was sitting beside him.
Speaking in Yoruba, Portable said, “4+4, Akoi Oyetola, my father is here.”
He also added, “Nigerians you all should agree for Tinubu, so everything can go well.”
The singer was also seen showing off money allegedly given to him after visiting the governor.
But reacting to the post on Wednesday, Nigerians on the microblogging site, Twitter, alleged that the governor was giving out taxpayers’ money in his “desperate bid” to be re-elected.
@Segun_EJ wrote, “Portable dey cash out, telling his fans to vote for APC, akoi Oyetola, dem give baba huge money as take away. This country don spoil finish. Davido How far?”
@Dondekojo, said, “Oyetola is so desperate, he went to get Portable’s endorsement. Even sat with the boy. SMH.”
@Ayomide_nm wrote, “I’m happy for Portable. He should milk those bastards.”
@Betram043 said, “Put PVC and Lime orange together in one place then ask Portable to help you with your PVC. I assure you there’s a 50/50 chance portable will pick the lime orange.”
@blackbeaut119, said, “One of the happiest moments in life is when you find the courage to let go of what you cannot change.”
@IfedolapoOsun, “This is what Oyetola is using our hard-earned taxpayers’ money to do? Before you collect money From APC and vote them, remember Portable is not from Osun, he Only came to Osun to campaign for APC.”
