A fire broke out in the early hours of Thursday at Queen Elizabeth Hall, a female-only hostel at the University of Ibadan, damaging the offices of the Hall Warden and Secretary.
The exact cause of the fire remains unknown as investigations are currently underway.
Confirming the incident, the university’s Director of Public Relations, Mrs. Joke Akinpelu, stated, “Yes, it is true. The offices of both the Hall Warden and the Secretary were affected.
The university is taking the matter seriously and is committed to ensuring the safety of all students.”
She added that efforts are ongoing to uncover the cause of the fire and that the university will share updates as more information becomes available.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety and security of students residing in the hall.
