Lere Olayinka, an ex-aide to former Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose, has said that it is a taboo is Yorubaland for a man to sleep in a woman’s house.
Olayinka took time to remind netizens of the morals and values of the Yorubas, perfectly coinciding with the online conversation fuelled by the separation of Funke Akindele and her husband, JJC Skillz.
Punch Metro reported that the rapper annonced the dissolution of their marriage via his Instagram handle on Thursday adding that the Nollywood actress had sent him out of her house, where they lived with their twins, about three months ago.
Citing irreconcilable differences, JJC Skillz believes that the issues are beyond repair.
However, Olayinka, in his indirect reaction to the trending topic, added that if a man dies in a woman’s house, the corpse must be moved out through the window.
“In Yorubaland, it is a taboo for a man to sleep in a woman’s house. If a man dies in a woman’s house, the corpse must be moved out through the window,” he posted on his verified Facebook page.
However, some of his followers disagreed with him, saying that he misquoted the Yoruba saying that warn’s against sleeping in an in-law’s house and not that of a spouse.
