Super Eagles head coach, Augustine Eguavoen, has extended camp invitations to Remo Stars’ wing-back Ismail Sadiq, Kano Pillars’ forward Zikifilu Rabiu, and Enugu Rangers’ attacking midfielder Kazeem Ogunleye, among a list of 35 players in team B.
This invitation comes as he is set to prepare for the 2025 African Nations Championship qualifying encounter against Ghana.
This clash will reignite memories of their previous face-off in the qualification series for the last CHAN tournament, where Ghana narrowly secured victory over Nigeria in a penalty shootout.
The first leg is scheduled for the weekend of December 20th–22nd, with the second leg following a week later.
The aggregate winner of these two legs will earn a coveted spot in the 8th edition of the CHAN, a tournament exclusively for players active in their country’s domestic leagues.
This 2024, the finals are set to be hosted across three East African countries—Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania—from February 1st to 28th, 2025.
Other call-ups include Wisdom Ndom from Akwa United, Saviour Isaac from Enugu Rangers, Anas Yusuf of Nasarawa United, and Abba Maigari from El-Kanemi Warriors.
All invited players will gather at the Abuja training camp, opening on Tuesday, October 29th.
