Jigawa State Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwal Danladi Sankara, has strongly denied accusations of being involved in an illicit relationship with a married woman.
According to The PUNCH, this comes after reports surfaced about his alleged arrest by the Kano State Hisbah Board.
On Friday, the Kano Hisbah Board’s Director General, Dr. Abba Sufi, confirmed that Sankara was apprehended in an uncompleted building with a married woman, following a complaint from her brother-in-law.
Sufi also indicated that Sankara would face multiple charges, including allegedly operating illegal drug centres under the names Picklock and 360
However, Sankara has refuted these claims, describing them as baseless and politically motivated. In a statement released Friday night, he called the allegations “false, baseless, and malicious,” and accused certain political actors of attempting to damage his reputation.
“I want to make it clear that these allegations are entirely false. They are part of a calculated effort by some political elements to tarnish my image and reputation,” Sankara said.
He emphasized his respect for the institution of marriage, stating, “As a married man, I hold marriage in high regard and would never engage in any behavior that disrespects its sanctity.”
Sankara also vowed to take legal steps to address the situation, announcing, “I will be taking legal action against those responsible for spreading this false information. It is a deliberate attempt to harm my character.”
