Barring any last-minute changes, 38 deportees from the United Kingdom will arrive in Nigeria today, PUNCH Metro reports.
According to Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Ministry, the deported Nigerians were accused of committing immigration-related offences in the UK.
The deportees are expected to arrive at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos State, today.
The Guardian UK reported that mothers and grandmothers, some of whom have lived in the UK for decades, are among those facing deportation to Nigeria and Ghana.
About 10 women suffering from severe mental health problems and are on anti-psychotic medication are part of those to be deported.
