The Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command has apprehended four suspected kidnappers believed to be behind a string of abductions in Jabi, Dutse village, Lugbe, and other areas within the FCT.
The spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, disclosed the arrest on her X (formerly Twitter) handle on Thursday, revealing that the suspects had been linked to several kidnapping operations across Kaduna, Niger, and the FCT.
In a statement, SP Adeh noted, “The suspects confessed to their involvement in numerous kidnappings and admitted to killing more than seven victims during their operations.”
According to the police, the gang had been preparing for further kidnappings in Abuja and Niger State, but their plans were thwarted by the swift intervention of security operatives.
“Their plot to carry out additional abductions was intercepted, and they were arrested before they could launch another attack,” Adeh said.
