President Bola Tinubu has appointed seven new executive directors for the Nigerian Television Authority, reconstituting the leadership of the state-owned broadcaster.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Friday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to the President.
The statement highlighted the reappointment of Ayo Adewuyi as the Executive Director of News, while six other professionals were appointed to lead various departments within the NTA.
The appointees include Ibrahim Aliyu, a legal practitioner, who will serve as Executive Director of Special Duties; Muhammed Mustapha as Executive Director of Administration and Training; and Mrs. Apinke Effiong, who was appointed Executive Director of Finance. Effiong brings expertise in financial marketing, treasury, and management accounting.
Mrs. Tari Taylaur, a seasoned audiovisual producer and showrunner, was named Executive Director of Programmes. Mr. Sadique Omeiza was appointed Executive Director of Engineering, while Mrs. Oluwakemi Fashina, a chartered marketer with extensive experience in integrated marketing communications, will serve as Executive Director of Marketing.
In his remarks, Onanuga emphasized, “These appointments are part of the President’s commitment to reposition the NTA and ensure that it operates efficiently, reflecting professionalism and service to the public.”
The appointments are expected to strengthen NTA’s operational capabilities across key areas, enhancing its role as a national broadcaster.
